We are on the 2nd day at GerMUN. So far all three committees (GA, ECOSOC, SC) keep on working fruitfully. The General Assembly is discussing the issue of "Nuclear Power and Environmental Disasters", the ECOSOC on "Green Growth as an Answer to Climate Change" and the SC on "Combating Maritime Piracy".

Heute ist im Trierischen Volksfreund ein Artikel über TriMUN 2012 und unsere Rolle als Repräsentanten der Islamischen Republik Iran bei der Harvard WorldMUN 2012 erschienen.

Unglücklicherweise suggerieren Teile des Artikels und vor allem das zugehörige Bild, mit einer sehr missverständlichen Bildunterschrift, dass sich unsere Delegation bei der Harvard WorldMUN 2012 in irgendeiner Weise kostümiert und die Herausforderungen, die auf sie zukommt, nicht ernst nimmt.
Wir bedauern die Berichterstattung sehr und möchten ausdrücklich betonen, dass sich jeder Delegierte auf die kommenden Simulationen in Weimar und Vancouver akribisch vorbereitet und sich der Verantwortung, die er trägt, bewusst ist.

Nach Rücksprachen mit der Redaktion wurde das unpassende Bild, das einen Delegierten, zeigt, der bei der BlankMUN in Blankenheim das Emirat Qatar vertrat und während einer Sitzungsunterbrechung die landesübliche Kleidung trug, aus dem Onlineportal des Trierischen Volksfreundes entfernt. Am morgigen Samstag, den 25. Februar 2012, so wurde uns versichert, wird eine Richtigstellung der Bildunterschrift im Trierischen Volksfreund veröffentlicht.

We are proud to welcome a journalist of the "Trierischer Volksfreund", a regional newspaper, in our last session.
